A Sick Day:A Small Decision
One day, I felt unwell at school. My head was pounding, and my body felt weak. I knew I couldn't continue my lessons, but I was nervous about asking for a leave slip. What if my classmates thought I was avoiding work? What if my teacher got upset?
My hands trembled as I approached the teacher's desk. "Excuse me, Ma'am," I said softly. "I think I need to go home today." The teacher looked at me with concern. "Are you feeling alright? Let me check your temperature."
I nodded, and she took my temperature. "You have a high fever," she said. "I think it's best if you go home." Relieved, I took the leave slip from her desk. My heart raced as I filled in my name and the date. I wrote "sick" in the reason box, carefully spelling it out.
On the way home, I felt a mix of emotions. I was happy to leave class but worried about what my classmates would think. When I arrived home, I told my mom about the day. She smiled gently and said, "It's okay to take care of yourself. I'll write the leave slip for you."
As I lay in bed that night, I thought about what had happened. A simple decision to stay home because I wasn't feeling well had led to a small, but important, experience. I learned that sometimes, taking care of yourself is the most important thing, even if it feels scary to ask for help.
This experience taught me the value of a leave slip. It's not just a piece of paper; it's a way to express when we need to take care of ourselves. And now, I understand that it's okay to make decisions that prioritize our health, no matter how small they may seem.
